GMAT is the most widely accepted test score if you are aspiring to pursue an MBA. With the pandemic still prevalent, taking this test from home is a safe and prudent option. I have taken this test at home, and here are the five essential things I have learned from my experience :
Practise makes Perfect:
One should try to practice the online whiteboard as much as they can as it helps a lot. Practicing on the online whiteboard for 5-6 hours will help you a lot with quant. As the online whiteboard has an unlimited canvas to work on, you won’t have to worry about erasing anything through the exam, and one can focus on just powering through the exam. Agreed the online whiteboard is not as same as paper. You cant do the same things on the whiteboard, but you need to practice using the online whiteboard for a couple of weeks at least as anything new will take some adjusting to before the exam. Believe me, your quant score will go up as you keep practicing on the online whiteboard. (Mine did)
Sound Body Also Equals Sound Mind:
As old as the saying is, but it perfectly fits in any time of your life. If you are mentally tired and also seated in an uncomfortable area, then your productivity will automatically go down. Firstly, find a proper comfy place to sit in. You should and must be able to sit for long hours there. Doing the quant section at the desk, then moving to the couch for the IR section by the time You come to the next part, you are already thinking about where to go next. Don’t do that. Secondly, try to take small breaks in between sections so that you are fresh enough for the next section. This is only possible if you don’t spend too much time in one section. Suppose there is a question that is taking up too much time. Don’t sweat, just skip. You won’t regret it later. Thirdly, don’t take this test wearing some super comfy pajamas and a tee. Wear some decent clothes which one would be wearing in the exam center.
The GMAT test isn’t different:
I’ve taken the actual GMAT test multiple times, and I must tell you the online test is very much similar to the real test, in terms of content/composition/question type, etc. So don’t you worry as all this online prep won’t go waste. As I told you before, one does need some practice on the online whiteboard. Any good practice will not only make you better but also make you reach your goal faster too.
GMAT Online Exam is a Good Option to Consider:
I’ve taken the GMAT online test once, and I might just consider retaking it. However, I have to admit that I do need more practice on the online whiteboard. The online whiteboard is a big factor one considers, but with some decent amount of practice, You will get better and should consider taking the exam online. You can always wait and give it to the exam center whenever it happens, or you could take a couple of weeks to practice online and then choose what you want to do later.
I hope the best practices I determined from my experience would be useful for you. No matter where you write the exam, your attitude and strategy should still be the same.
All the best for your exam!
