Sayantani has worked for 16 years with the manufacturing giant Cummins and already holds executive management education from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research. Sayantani connected with Mr. Francis Mondal, who understood her profile in detail and advised her on possible program options for her. Based on their interactions he connected her with Mr. Ankur Bhatia, a consultant for General Education and an HHL Leipzig MBA alumnus, helped her leverage well his expertise and insights for application essays, and interview preparation. What was the main challenge you faced prior to using our services?
Major challenges faced were in structuring my thoughts and putting them in the SOP to formulate a storyline. I have been working for the past 15 years, so I had a lot of experiences and stories to share in the SOP. With word limits specified by schools, you really need to sharpen the skill of telling a lot in few words. Ankur, who was my consultant, helped me in solving my issue. There are several nuances that one needs to consider, research while preparing a SOP or CV. He helped me to shape my story in the way B-schools want.
Were you confident about where you wanted to apply and the kind of help you required for that?
I was looking for a course that was designed for people with mid-level to senior-level experience in the corporate, who wants to pivot their career into CXO roles in the future. In addition, since my 16 years of work have been in India, I also wanted to gain global exposure and learn about cultural adoption. My research has been very wide with lot of confusion. I was trying all options from exec MBA, full-time MBA, MS in Business Analytics, etc. Francis from General Education, has been a great support in guiding me to evaluate the different options, connected me with several alumni of different schools, and experienced consultants to get clarity and direction. This helped me to narrow down my choices and decide on Sloan for Mid-senior level students.
How did you start your search for a solution and how did you find us?
As stated in my last answer, I was searching through different websites of education consultants, top B-school websites to understand their offerings, job reports etc. to figure out the right fit for myself. I found “General Education” through word-of-mouth publicity from one of my friends who had taken their services to get through IIM, Ahmedabad for PGPX.
What made our approach and services stand out from others in the market?
Personal attention, prompt responses, rational & logical solutions to problem solving, vast knowledge about B-school admission criteria, existing alumni base of students who had used GE’s services, Consultants from Top Ranking B-Schools who are very cordial, understands your requirement and work with you till the end of your journey!! These are the unique qualities that I have experienced in my journey with GE and differentiate them from other service providers.
What was the main concern that would have prevented you from enrolling for our services?
Initially I thought the package pricing was on a higher side. I had opted for 5 schools and eventually, took the service for only 1 school. So, price was a concern and could have been a roadblock in choosing GE. However, the service received was very helpful and of high quality hence I upgraded my package to the IMAP 5 school package for end-to-end assistance later.
Did you feel our counselor and consultants added value to your application? If so, what did you like most about them?
My counselor was Mr. Francis Mondal, who has been a great support in guiding me to evaluate the different options. I was confused between MS Sloan & Full-time MBA. He connected me with several alumni of different schools and experienced consultants to get clarity and direction. Francis has always been available and has counseled me multiple times. He has been very direct and clear in his suggestions, feedback and has good precision in problem-solving & planning.
My consultant was Mr. Ankur Bhatia. Ankur has been an excellent coach and mentor in my journey to successfully get into SLOAN, 2023 batch at London Business School. He’s been very patient, proactive, agile, systematic, and responsive. It was a difficult journey since Sloan is very different, meant for senior leadership and unlike MBA admissions. He handled the diversity skillfully, ensured meeting the timelines. He is a coach who creates a space of comfort and openness where you can ideate, bring out your best thoughts and carve your thoughts into action. I highly recommend Ankur for coaching and mentoring more fellows and enlightening others. Special thanks to you for supporting me in my journey. Hope to strengthen our connection in the future. Thanks once again!
