What is Deferred Admission?
It is the option that allows an admitted student to postpone their enrollment at a college or university for a specified period

Typical deferral period: 1 year

Important:

  • Must commit to a college before requesting a deferral
  • Must have a purpose and a plan for the time out of school before making deferral request
  • Acceptable reasons for deferment period:
  • to explore career interests
  • to complete service projects

Process of Deferring Admission:

  1. Commit to enrollment by paying the commitment deposit
  2. Submit an official request for a deferral
