The reason behind the leadership program by Tata Group was to create an exclusive group of managers within the company and also provide a rich platform for raw talents to reach their maximum potential. Candidates are selected through 2 processes-
i) campus recruitments and
ii) In-house in some of the top business schools in India (MBA graduates).
So if you are looking to get into TAS then the eligibility criteria for the program are:
1) A full-time bachelor’s degree in any discipline is mandatory.
2) Applicants should have not more than 6 years of professional experience, out of which 2 years should be on the Tata Group on permanent rolls.
TAS In House Criteria
There are a certain set of criteria that is assessed before getting accepted as an in-office employee for the programme. The parameters involved are:
– The candidate must be a permanent employee of the Tata Group of Companies and Tata Joint Venture companies.
– A minimum of 2 years of continuous services at Tata Group of the applicants is required.
– The candidate should not have more than 6 years of experience after their Bachelor’s degree.
– Short-term project internships will not be considered in terms of work experience.
– Candidates must have a valid GMAT score taken 3 years prior to joining the TAS in House Process programme. GRE scores are not valid.
TAS Selection Process
There are 3 stages you should know when it comes to the selection process for the TAS In House program.
– Group Discussion
– Presentation Round
– Face Face Interview
1. Group Discussion
Once the application process is completed, shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in group discussions. This round is also known as the Chairman’s GD round. This is the first step of the TAS selection process where a group of 10 candidates is present, each person is given one case at a time. The candidates are then required to present the case to the group and lead the discussion.
2. Presentation Round
Candidates are then further shortlisted for a presentation round, where they have to present a designated case study given to them. The shortlisted candidates will present the case study for 30 minutes and it also includes questions. The case studies will be provided beforehand for the TAS selection process.
3. Face-to-Face Interview
The qualifying candidates will have an interaction with the senior panels from the Tata group. The selection process is conducted digitally. Below are some of the topics enlisted on questions asked in the final stage of the TAS selection procedure.
– General Affairs or Current Affairs about India and World.
– Politics, Political Scams, etc
– Theoretical questions like What is Leadership? What will you gain after the programme?
– Where do you see yourself working after the programme, which TATA Group company?
