IIM C Interview Questions and Preparation Help

IIMC PGPEX Interviews are generally held for about 30 minutes. The interviews are taken by the admissions committee of IIMC.

IIMC PGPEX interviews (and IIM experienced MBA interviews in general) involve significant questioning on current affairs and career goals. Short questions involving calculations or quick conversions are possible too. In some rare cases, candidates may be asked to explain the meaning of technical terms connected to their profession.

Interview panels are usually small (1-3 people) and almost invariably involve at least one IIMC faculty member. In this sense, the IIMC PGPEX interview is much more probing of a candidate’s skills and awareness too, and not just one’s career plans and fit with the school, as may be the case with several other schools.

The objective, of course, is not to be dismissive of the candidate’s skills, but to ensure that the candidate possesses high analytical potential and ability as professed in the application.

I reached my interview venue couple minutes early. Asked to wait with other candidates, who went before me. Now, it was my turn. The duration of the interview was 25- 30 minutes. The panel had 3 members and all of them professors. Interview was focused on mostly on how much the person is aware about his/her industry. The interviewers will identify your weaknesses almost immediately and questions on that will follow soon. One should be aware about latest industry trends. The panel was keen to know more clarity about my answer for questions asked than asking his own questions.

Below I have noted the questions from what I can remember.

  1. Introduce yourself.
  2. What is the difference between AI and ML?
  3. How do you classify tech industry?
  4. What is NASSCOM?
  5. What is the current trend going on in the industry?

  10. Who is the current CM of Odisha and why he has been continuously elected ?

Interview Experience 2

My interview location was the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta campus at Joka. I had the morning slot on Day 1 of interviews and was the second person to be interviewed.

I reached the venue quite early. They showed me the direction of the venue and I moved into the beautiful campus. I moved on and reached the place where the interviews were to be held. I was shown directions and comfortably seated myself in the waiting room with the other candidates.

Here I met such illustrious candidates. I met people with tremendous work experience and accolades.
